Tom LeRoy and Bill Adams, authors of The “Southern Kitchen Garden” will present an informative presentation on spring vegetable gardening.  Tom and Bill have many years of gardening experience as county extension agents.  Advanced and beginning vegetable gardeners alike will benefit from this class.  Prepare to be entertained as well as educated!   Tom and Bill’s book The “Southern Kitchen Garden”, and Bill’s books The Lonestar Gardener’s Book of Lists and The Texas Tomato Lover’s Hankbook will be available for purchase and book signing.

Bill Adams worked in mass media most of his career, appeared on radio and TV programs and has written weekly columns.  After retiring from the County Extension Service, Bill concentrates on gardening, writing and photography.  As a much requested speaker, he is a regular contributor of articles and photographs to Neil Sperry’s Gardens magazine and to Mother Earth News.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Tom LeRoy received degrees in horticulture and plant breeding.  He worked as County Extension Agent-Horticulture in Montgomery County where in 1979  he started the first Master Gardener Volunteer Program in Texas.  In 1988 he transferred to Harris County to head up their Master Gardener Program.  In 1998, he moved back to Montgomery County as County Extension Agent-Horticulture.
